Events

“Engaging Youth. Building Supports. Strengthening Opportunities.”

We want to shine a light on how we can best support young people and help them successfully transition to adulthood. Supporting our youth as they “Ride the Waves of Resilience” means showing up and supporting them through all of life’s obstacles.

2026 Grad Bag Campaign

Graduation is a powerful milestone—one that deserves to be celebrated by every young person. Each year, we honor youth in foster care across Alabama who are graduating high school or earning their GED, recognizing their resilience, determination, and strength.

One meaningful way we celebrate is through Grad Bags. These bags are more than just a gift—they’re a message. A message that our youth are seen, supported, and not alone as they step into their next chapter.

Foster youth deserve more than a trash bag to carry their belongings. Through Grad Bags, we provide a suitcase filled with essential items—but even more importantly, we provide encouragement, dignity, and a reminder that they have a community cheering them on.

As they ride the waves of resilience through graduation and beyond, we want them to feel prepared, empowered, and supported every step of the way!

There are several ways you can give and make a difference, through Swell Giving or our Amazon Wishlist!

Regional ILP Meetings

Throughout the year the IL Team travels to various counties across the state of Alabama to bring IL youth together.

At these events, area IL  youth have the opportunity to connect and learn what ILP can do! There will be door prizes, games, and more!

Lunch is always be provided
